HOW IT HAPPENED
Five minutes in, Zeno tallied the opening goal of the game.
Emmery Clark scored for a 2-0 lead, and
Chloe Elliott grabbed the ensuing draw control and fired in another goal six seconds later.
Helen Bae took over as the recorded a natural hat trick. She deposited her first at the 6:36 mark, her second 39 seconds later, and notched her third with 2:42 left for a 6-0 margin. The Golden Bears scored their lone goal of the half but Zeno scored late to hand the Saints an 8-1 lead after the first.
Â
Kylie Pettus opened the scoring in the second, and
Natalie Tomljenovic tallied 90 seconds later. Elliot slotted home a player-up goal, with Zeno firing in another. Clark cashed in her second on the day, and Tomljenovic followed with her second, too. Elliott finished off her first-half hat trick as the Saints grabbed a 15-1 edge at the half.
Â
CSP scored the first two goals of the second half before the Saints responded with six-in-a-row as Maryville topped the 20-goal mark for the second straight outing. Four different Maryville players scored at least three times in the contest as the Saints won their fourth straight game. Zeno's 12 points tie the output by
Sydney Tiemann (April 14, 2023, at Missouri Western) and
Jessie Hynes (April 12, 2024, at William Jewell). Zeno's seven assists are only topped by the eight by Hynes in that April 12, 2024, game.
