ALLENDALE, MICH. – The No. 5 Maryville women's lacrosse squad stretched its winning streak to seven with a 10-5 triumph at No. 16 Grand Valley State. The Saints scored four straight goals in the second quarter, while blanking the Lakers to grab control of the contest. Maryville's offensive attack was balanced as four Saints scored two goals apiece. Netminder
Gianna Guzek made seven saves as the Maryville defense held the Lakers to a season-low tying output for goals.
HOW IT HAPPENED
After a defensive start to the game,

The defenses again clamped down as neither team scored for more than 10 minutes. Guzek saved a free-position shot to keep Maryville in front, and the Saints also hit a post. Tomljenovic broke through for a 3-1 lead.

The Saints garnered the first possession of the third quarter, and
Marissa Zeno converted for a 7-1 lead. The Lakers pulled one score back but Zeno answered for an 8-2 cushion midway through the third. Zeno and Elliott tallied consecutive goals as the Saints went up 9-2. GVSU took advantage of a player-up situation but
