CLEVELAND, TENN. –
Chloe Elliott scored a career-high six times and finished with a career-best eight points to pace the Maryville women's lacrosse squad to a 23-10 victory at Lee University.
Marissa Zeno had five goals and one assist, while
Helen Bae also finished with six points on four goals and two assists to go along with 13 draw controls. The victory pushes Maryville's win streak to eight games.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Saints burst out of the gates by tallying the first six goals, including a natural hat tick by Zeno to open the game. She scored just 34 seconds into the game, then tallied at the 12:28 mark to double the Maryville lead. Another 45 seconds elapsed before Zeno completed her hat trick. Elliott tacked on a pair of goals two minutes apart, and Bae made it 6-0 after less than seven minutes of action.
Â
Lee pulled to within 7-4 but the Saints answered with seven unanswered goals to grab control. Bae fired in two more goals before
Devyn Dimovitz scored. Elliott fired in three straight scores, and a tally by
Emmery Clark made it 14-4. Zeno and Elliott found the back of the net as the Saints took a 16-6 lead into halftime.
Â
After a score by
Gaby Quinones,
Natalie Tomljenovic notched a pair of goals. The Saints put the game away in the fourth as Tennessee native
Reagan Rukstad scored twice, and
Anna Schamens found the net to close out the scoring.
