Koth Tallies Three RBIs in Doubleheader Split With UMSL

ST. LOUIS – Addison Koth was the story of the doubleheader for the Maryville softball team, hitting her third home run of the season to help propel the Saints to a game-one win over the Tritons. The visitors responded with a 3-1 game-two win, with the lone Saints' run coming from Koth.

GAME 1 | MARYVILLE 4, UMSL 0
After a clean first inning by freshman Cora Boyle, the Saints found their first lead of the day with one swing of the bat. With two outs and a runner on second, Koth blasted a ball over the right-center wall to make it 2-0.

Two 1-2-3 innings from Boyle led to another run scoring as the Tritons' sloppy defense allowed both Jenna Kosnoff and Isabella Garcia to trot home for a 4-0 lead—one that held until the end.

Boyle picked up her sixth win of the season, giving up just four hits while walking none.

GAME 2 | UMSL 3, MARYVILLE 1
With Boyle tossing a gem in game one, the Tritons responded with a stellar pitching performance of their own, limiting the Saints to just one hit over seven innings.

Maryville's only run crossed the plate in the first inning. Corona was the catalyst, working her way into scoring position by drawing a walk, stealing second, and advancing to third on a throwing error. Koth brought her home with a sacrifice fly for her third RBI of the day.

Kosnoff broke up the no-hitter in the sixth, flicking a single into left field, but that was the lone offense the Saints could generate, falling 3-1.
