ST. LOUIS – The Maryville men's volleyball team returned to its winning ways, closing it out versus the Mount St. Joseph Lions in three sets.
Four saints had five or more kills, with
Joe Nicometo recording a season high five on nine attacks.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Saints stormed out quickly and never let up, grabbing the first set 25-14, with their lowest hitting percentage of the day coming in that set, only striking 37 percent.
From there it was a Saints show, striking 40 percent in the second set and 53 percent to close out the third set.
Aces were the big killer for the Lions, as the Saints dished out a season high 15.
Jake Usher led all Maryville players with three, while
Cameron Lee,
Victor Ganev, Tyler Sobersalski and
Luke Kraft each recorded two. Usher's three is a career high for the redshirt freshman.
