ST. JOSEPH, MO. – Fueled by a season-high nine points from
Helen Bae, the No. 5 Maryville women's lacrosse team pushed its winning streak to 13 with a 20-8 decision at Missouri Western in Great Lakes Valley Conference action. Bae fired in six goals and three assists to reach her season best, while also snaring 11 draw controls.
Natalie Tomljenovic finished with five goals and one assist, while
Chloe Elliott notched five scores.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Saints tallied the first three goals of the game to grab the lead. Elliott fired in a goal just 19 seconds into the game, and followed up with a free-position score a minute later. Tomljenovic made it 3-0 seven minutes into the contest. Missouri Western got on the board until
Marissa Zeno answered for the Saints. Maryville took a 4-2 lead after the opening quarter.

The Saints took over as for the second straight game, they went on an 8-0 spree to break open the game.
Devyn Dimovitz started the second with back-to-back goals before Bae reeled off a natural hat trick in a span of 62 seconds. Kyle Pettus recorded a goal before scores by Elliott and Bae made it 12-2. MWSU scored in the final seconds to make it 12-3 at halftime.

The Saints pushed their advantage to double digits by scoring three of the first four goals to start the third. Tomljenovic scored before Elliott and Bae converted consecutive scores for a 15-4 cushion. The Griffons closed the gap with three straight goals before the Saints came right back with three unanswered for an 18-7 margin. The Saints were a perfect 10-for-10 on clears and outshot MWSU 31-15 in the game.
