ST. LOUIS – A special program day was highlighted by a couple wins for Maryville softball as it swept Southwest Baptist. Game one saw a complete game shutout by
Chayse Ramey on her second senior day, leading to a 6-0 win with
Addison Koth destroying a softball in the first inning.Â
For the second half of the twin bill,
Jenna Kosnoff tallied two extra-base hits while Koth went 3 for 4, taking the game 5-3.Â
Before all the action got started, the Saints celebrated their senior class of
Emily Corona,
Isabella Garcia and
Chayse Ramey.Â
GAME 1 | Maryville 6, SBU 0
In the first, Koth demolished a softball with Kosnoff on base to put the Saints up 2-0. That set the tone as Kosnoff and Garcia grabbed RBIs in the second to make it 5-0.Â
Marley Williamson and Cailyn Gdowski executed a perfect double steal in the fifth to bring the lead to 6-0.Â
Ramey was quality from the circle, punching out seven, only giving up six hits.Â
GAME 2 | Maryville 5, SBU 3
The Bearcats jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead, one cut in half by a bomb by Kosnoff in the second.Â
Miranada Bondurant tied it up with a sac fly in the third, a score that held until the fifth. Situational small ball propelled the Saints in the fifth as back-to-back sacrifice bunts scored runs with Williamson capping it off with an RBI single.Â
The Bearcats added one more in the seventh, finding the final.

Softball finishes the regular season on the road at Truman State and Quincy this coming weekend.Â
