KANSAS CITY, MO. – The Maryville women's basketball team tied its season high for 3-pointers with 14 to power to a 72-50 triumph at Rockhurst. Seven different Saints found the range from deep.
Adylan Ayer led the Saints with 17 points and seven rebounds.
Lindsey Schadewalt sank five 3-pointers en route to 15, while
Claire Lueken finished with 13.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Late in the first, the Saints used an 11-3 run to jump ahead.
Adylan Ayer started the run with a bucket before the Saints found the range from deep. Ayder and
Madyson Rigdon sank consecutive triples, and another 3-pointer from
Claire Lueken built a 23-17 edge. Rockhurst closed to 27-25 until
Lindsey Schadewalt took over from deep. She hit a trio of treys as they Saints pushed out to a 36-27 lead. Maryville grabbed a 38-29 advantage heading into the break as Schadewalt finished 4-for-4 from deep in the first half.

Both defenses came out of halftime and put the clamps down on the offensive attack. The Saints broke through and reeled off 11 straight points. Lueken had back-to-back layups before
Bree Shannon swished a wing 3-pointer.
Alicia Burgos scored inside to extend the margin to 49-33 as the Saints kept Rockhurst off the scoreboard for nearly four minutes.
Annika Pluemer hit a late 3-pointer as the Saints took a 52-36 lead into the fourth.

The Saints pulled away in the fourth quarter with a 13-0 run, including three more treys to lead by as many as 23 points. The win is their fifth straight victory in Mason-Halpin Field House.
