ST. LOUIS – For the second straight game,
Evan Palmquist reached season high as Maryville pushed No. 12 Missouri S&T but the upset bid fell short 92-80. Palmquist rained down 30 points, while
Henry Sanchez finished with 20 points. Both players sank five-3-pointers as the Saints hit a season-high 13 from beyond the arc. The 80 points scored is the most for the Saints in a Great Lakes Valley Conference game this season.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Miners used an 11-3 run to build a 22-13 lead. The Saints answered with eight straight points. Palmquist had a three-point play, and Sanchez scored on a drive. Palmquist drained a triple to cut the lead down to 22-21.
Kobe Clark knocked down a jumper before
Lincoln Palbicki hit two at the stripe to make it 29-27. The visitors edged ahead and eventually took a 45-37 lead.

The Saints made a charge to open the second half with six straight points. Palmquist converted a drive before Palbicki sank a hook shot and a short jumper to pull Maryville to 45-43. The Miners tried to pull away but Palmquist tallied seven points for the Saints to keep the deficit at 58-54. Sanchez drained a deep 3-pointer as the Saints got as close as 60-57 with 12:59 to play. However, the Miners went on a 12-3 burst to take control. Maryville got to within 75-66 with 7:26 to play on an
Eric Hackett drive but the Saints never got any closer the rest of the way. The Saints finished with 16 assists, their highest total against a DII school this season.
