EDWARDSVILLE, ILL. - The Maryville women's tennis team challenged Division I SIU Edwardsville but the Cougars swept the Saints Sunday afternoon. The contest was played at the Edwardsville Y Meyer Center.
 
SIUE took the doubles point by winning the top two positions. Isabella Alvarez pushed her foe at No. 1 singles, falling 6-4, 6-4. Luana Luersen forced her first set at No. 5 singles to a tiebreak but also lost in straight sets.

The Saints are not in action again until Friday, Feb. 27, when they take on Ottawa University for a 3 pm match at Sunset Hills Tennis Center.
