Women’s Lacrosse Drops Top Five Road Battle Against No. 2 Florida Southern

LAKELAND, FLA.  – Helen Bae finished with four goals and an assist but could not prevent the No. 4 Maryville women's lacrosse team from a 20-10 loss at No. 2 Florida Southern. Paige Murphy recorded a hat trick and one assist, while Devyn Dimovitz had two goals and two assists.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Mocs opened the scoring but Dimovitz answered less than a minute later. FSC took the lead but Bae tied the game at 2-2 with her first goal. The Mocs took the lead on three straight goals. Bae broke the drought for the Saints to make it 5-3. FSC tallied to end the first and scored the first five goals of the second quarter to break the game open. The Saints rallied late when Dimovitz and Kylie Pettus scored just before halftime to pull the Saints to within 11-5 at the break.

The Mocs started the third with two goals but Bae and Murphy responded for Maryville to cut the lead down to 13-7. However, FSC went on another 6-0 surge. The Saints made a late push with a goal by Bae and a pair from Murphy but never got any closer.
