ST. LOUIS - For the first time in program history, the Maryville men's tennis squad defeated NCAA Division I Saint Louis University by a 4-3 scoreline. With the match tied 3-3,
Michel Delaloye rallied to take his singles contest at No. 3 by a 6-7, 7-5, 6-4 score for the decisive point.

On the men's side, the Billikens won the doubles point to start the contest.
Diego Alvarez grabbed a point at No. 4 singles by a 6-4, 3-6, 6-3 margin.
Maksym Chernogorov rolled in his No. 5 singles match 6-0, 6-2.
Luca Morbioli took a straight set decision at No. 6 via a 7-5, 6-2 decision.

In the final and deciding match, Delaloye lost the opening set in a tiebreak but won the second set 7-5 to force the third set. He prevailed by a 6-4 margin to give the Saints their first victory over SLU.

The Saints are back on the courts as they host Quincy Saturday, April 4, for an 11 a.m. match in Dwight Davis Tennis Center.
