High School: Shafer transferred to Fairmont for her junior season and helped lead the team to a 27-1 record. Her backcourt play was seemingly the missing link in her team's dominance in the state of Ohio and its run to the Ohio Big School's State Title and subsequent #2 national ranking in USA Today.  Shafer was named first-team All-Conference and Honorable Mention All-District. Two of her Farimont teammates signed NLIs with Division I teams. She was an All-Conference selection as a senior and twice was named second team. Shafer was named to the District 15 All-Star team and was team captain her senior year. In her final season, she averaged 11.4 ppg to go along with 2.2 rpg. Shafer shot 48.3 percent from the field and 82.6 percent at the free-throw line. She hit 44 3-pointers and made 35.7 percent from beyond the arc.
