Biography

2015:  Finished an injury filled junior season hitting .298 with a .414 on base percentage… 3/21 went 2 for 3 with RBO in a 5-4 victory over Illinois-Springfield…3/27 went 5 for 6 with 2 RBI and 2 runs scored against Drury…4/24 went 3 for 4 with a walk in game against Quincy…He is the top five for both single season and career triples

2014:   Earned second-team All-Conference while hitting .335 and leading the team in RBI with 23 and stealing seven bases.  Also picked up 52 hits on the season while leading the way with 15 multiple hit games and having a team high hitting streak of nine games.  Had a 4-6 night against Illinois Springfield including a double and triple with two RBI.
 
2013:  Finished the season with 12 at-bats … earned four starts while appearing in 13 games … came on as a pinch runner to score two runs.

VonBehren on Murphy:
Murph is a threat to do something every time he gets in the batter’s box.  He provides us with a little bit of everything which makes him hard to pitch to.  Had he not been injured much of last year I think we would be looking at one of the top hitters to ever play at Maryville in terms of records.
