Maryville University Athletics

2016:  Finished the year hitting .258 while starting 47 of 48 games played in. Led the team with eight homeruns and 36 RBI while typing Zack Ruckman for a program record 35 runs scored.  His 31 walks set a school record. He added nine doubles and one triple while having an on base percentage of .394.  He will enter his senior season as the programs career record holder in homeruns and walks while in the top five offensively in several other categories.
His grand slam against UMSL helped lead the Saints to a road victory on 3/25. 4/16 had a 4 for 5 day at the plate with three runs and three RBI helping lead the Saints to a series sweep of William Jewell.

2015: Carriger led the team offensively in batting average at .393, total bases, and on base percentage in 44 games adding 25 runs and 23 RBI while fielding .984....Named second team all-conference…. Summer program Lima Locos finished ranked in top 25 in college baseball summer while Carriger was named to the All-Star team and named first-team All-Great Lakes ... 2/14 went 2 for 2 with two walks and three RBI… 3/7 went 2 for 3 with three RBI in a 10-7 win over Hillsdale… 4/1 went 2 for 3 with an RBI and two runs scored in win against UMSL… 4/10-4/11 went 8 for 14 with four runs and three RBI in series against Rockhurst.

2014: Started 36 games recording 19 hits and scoring 13 runs.  First college hit came in his first at bat against Trevecca Nazarene in a series he went 5-12.

High School: Played at Highland High School and played under Head Coach Joel Hawkins ...  hit .379 with nine doubles and 30 stolen bases ... was named to theAll-Metro and  All-Conference teams ... also played travel ball with the St. Louis Gamers.

 VonBehren on Carriger:
Mitch is ready to lead our program. He is always the guy who could change the game for us both offensively and defensively. He will get used in a couple of areas this year defensively and offensively he brings a plus approach to the plate. I am excited for his senior year.
