David Naylor comes to Maryville after serving as development manager at Basketball Western Australia. He has spent most of his coaching tenure in the Australian youth ranks and was the head coach for the Geelong Supercats U23 Youth League Team as well as with the Victoria Country U16 State Team. Naylor was also an assistant coach with the Victoria Country U18 State Team. He had tenures equivalent to the high school ranks in the US when he was head of basketball at Westbourne Grammar School as well as the head of basketball at Geelong Grammar School.

Naylor, who hails from Melbourne, Australia, attended Box Hill Senior Secondary school. He earned a scholarship and played at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., from 2005-2009. In his final season with the Sharks, he averaged 11.3 ppg, 7.3 rpg and earned team Most Valuable Player honors. Naylor shot 55.6 percent from the field and 76.5 percent at the free-throw line. Naylor earned his bachelor’s degree in psychology from NSU in 2009.
