Peter Wilkerson

Peter Wilkerson comes to Maryville in September 2013 after three years at Covenant College in Lookout Mountain, Ga.

“Peter’s integrity, passion and humility were qualities that stood out about him and were an exact match for what we were looking for to complete our staff,” Saints head coach Kevin Carroll said. “He is someone who will work tirelessly with our players to provide them the best student-athlete experience possible. His experience coaching in a system similar to ours, under Kyle Taylor at Covenant College, will allow him to come in and hit the ground running.”

Wilkerson served as a part-time assistant coach at Covenant College after two years as a student manager for the Scots varsity basketball program. He was responsible for many facets of the men’s program including Mountaintop Madness, statistical data gathering and analysis, film exchange, Covenant’s recruiting database and recruiting.

As a freshman, Wilkerson played for the Covenant JV basketball program. After one year of competition, he was interested in coaching and worked as a student assistant for head coach Kyle Taylor. During Wilkerson’s three seasons, the Scots improved their winning percentage each year, capped by a 13-11 slate in 2012-13, the program’s first winning season in 14 years. A native of Brunswick, Ga., Wilkerson graduated from Covenant in May 2013.
