Casey Mithun joined the Saints men's lacrosse staff in the fall of 2023 as Maryville's Offensive Coordinator and was promoted to Associate Head Coach prior to the 2025 season. He has played an instrumental role in Maryville's success and had helped the Saints become of the top Division II programs in the country. In recognition of his impact, Mithun was named the Intercollegiate Men's Lacrosse Coaches Association NCAA Division II Outstanding Assistant Coach of the Year in the fall of 2025.
Mithun coached Prior Lake High School (Minn.) for five years covering four seasons (one season was canceled due to the CoVID-19 pandemic). He posted a record of 60-15 as the head coach, and served as an assistant at PLHS for seven seasons. Mithun was a part of three state championships, one as the head coach and two as an assistant. From 2012 through 2018, PLHS won two state titles with a fifth-place finish and two sectional runner ups. As head coach, Mithun claimed one state title and directed three state championship runner-up squads. PLHS made a total of six appearances in the Minnesota State Championship game during his coaching tenure.
A graduate of the University of Minnesota Duluth, he was a two-time All-American attackman and served as team captain of the MLCA DI squad. Mithun coached at his alma mater UMD for three seasons, and also directed the Team Minnesota club.
