Erik Carretero begins his first year of coaching with the Maryville University Men’s Soccer program after playing the last two seasons with the Saints.
Carretero started both of his seasons with the Saints at center midfield and captained the team his senior year. Prior to Maryville, Carretero played two seasons at Bellarmine University.
Carretero had a successful prep career, where he played three years on the SLUH Varsity squad and helped them to a state runner-up finish his senior year. As a youth he played for Lou Fusz SC and Scott Gallagher SC.
At Maryville he earned a Bachelor of Science in Marketing and Sports Business Management with a minor in Spanish. Carretero is currently working towards an M.B.A. degree at Maryville University.
