Kennedy Cattenhead joined the Saints women's basketball coaching staff in June 2018. She was a four-year standout player and was a team captain for three years at the University of Illinois playing in 112 games, making 74 starts.

Cattenhead earned All-Big Ten Academic honors four straight years and was inducted into Chi Alpha Sigma, the National College Athlete Honor Society. She was amongst 42 students who were selected for maintaining at least a 3.4 GPA through their junior year, earned a varsity letter and have good moral character, exhibiting citizenship and leadership qualities. Throughout her time at Illinois, Cattenhead was an active participant in her community, and she was a part of several registered student organizations. She was nominated for WBCA Allstate Good works Team.

The following year Cattenhead was nominated as the only undergraduate student to work directly under the Senior Associate Director of Athletics to be a part of the Illinois Diversity and Inclusion board as a representative for the student-athlete body. She was a regular volunteer throughout the community regularly throughout her five years at Illinois.

Cattenhead will graduate from the University of Illinois with a master’s degree in Higher Education with a concentration on Diversity and Equity. She not only excelled athletically but academically and strived to make a difference in giving back through volunteer work in the surrounding community, throughout her five years at University of Illinois.
