Maryville University head women’s basketball coach Colin Lanam announced Stacia Shrider as an assistant coach. She was the head coach at Marietta College, a Division III program in Marietta, Ohio, for four seasons prior to joining the Saints for the 2016-17 season.
While at Marietta, Shrider guided the team to its most wins in 20 years and the squad received Division III Top 25 National Poll votes for the first time in school history. The team also posted its most league wins since the 2000-01 season. In her four seasons with the Pioneers, Shrider recorded 41 victories, the second most in program history. She was the President of the Ohio Athletic Conference coaches association. Shrider served for two seasons as an assistant coach at Marietta.
Shrider earned her bachelor’s degree in education from Baldwin Wallace University in 2008. Shrider was team captain for two seasons at Baldwin Wallace University and played all four years there. She helped the Yellow Jackets reach the Elite 8 in 2006. Shrider was an honorable mention All-OAC selection and earned Academic All-OAC honors as a senior. She served as a graduate assistant for two seasons at Heidelberg University and earned a master’s degree in education in 2010.
