After Quincy scored on the first possession of the game, JoAnn Thompson sank a jumper and Kate Childs scored to put the Saints on top. The Hawks tied the game at 6-6 until Rita Flynn drained a 3-pointer from just to the right of the top of the key for a 9-6 Maryville lead. Quincy scored eight straight to take a lead it would not give up the rest of the day. Erica Lorton’s hoop cut the Saints’ deficit to 14-11 eight minutes into the game. Quincy extended its lead to 43-28 before a jumper by Duethman and two free throws by Childs cut the advantage to 43-32. After a QU hoop, Oney scored on inside the lane to make it 45-34 with 11:03 to play. However, the Saints were unable to get the deficit to single-digits, and Quincy slowly edged away to for its fourth straight win.
