THIS WEEK:
Maryville takes a trip to Indiana for two contests this week. The Saints are at Saint Joseph’s Friday, Oct. 12, then head to Indianapolis to challenge the Greyhounds Sunday, Oct. 14.
MORE ON MARYVILLE:
The Saints stand at 2-7-4, 1-5-4 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. Sam Poteet continues to lead the squad with three goals, while Jen Jung has found the back of the net twice. Hana McGinis has a team-high three assists. Jena Casagrande ranks 14th in the nation with a 0.51 GAA and is seventh with a .907 save percentage. She has made 39 saves en route to posting four shutouts.
ABOUT SAINT JOSEPH’S:
The Pumas are 2-9-1 overall, 1-8-1 in the GLVC. SJU has only scored seven goals but Sarah Johnson has tallied four of them to lead the Pumas. Kate Hickner added two tallies. Amanda Volk has played nearly every minute in goal and has made 94 saves to lead the league in saves per game.
ABOUT INDIANAPOLIS:
The Greyhounds are 5-7-0 overall, 4-6-0 in GLVC and have won three of their last four games. Shelby Spinelli leads the offense with four goals and four assists for 12 points. Kaitlyn Braunig and Nicole Duncan have three scores apiece. Megan Fee has played every minute in goal with a 1.47 GAA and 61 saves.
RECAPPING LAST WEEK:
The Saints suffered a heartbreaking loss when Wisconsin-Parkside scored early in double overtime to post a 1-0 win. Jena Casagrande made a season-high 12 saves as Maryville secured a 0-0 draw against Lewis.
LOOKING AHEAD:
The Saints play at Quincy Friday, Oct. 19, before coming home for Senior Day Sunday, Oct. 21, against Illinois Springfield starting at Noon.
