Women's Soccer Falls at Indianapolis

Indianapolis tallied three first-half goals and made the margin stand to hand the Maryville women’s team a 3-0 defeat in Great Lakes Valley Conference action Sunday afternoon.
 
The Saints had an early scoring chance when Shannon Foley tested UIndy’s keeper Megan Fee who made the save. The Greyhounds had three straight opportunities but the Saints cleared a ball off the line, and Jena Casagrande made three consecutive saves to keep the game scoreless. Shelby Spinelli scored at the 24:03 mark to put the home squad on top 1-0. Five minutes later, Indianapolis doubled its lead in the 30th minute of action. Cydney Robertson nearly put Maryville on the board but her shot was turned aside. In the final minutes of the first half, Indianapolis closed out the scoring.
 
The Saints had three more chances to dent the scoreboard but had two shots saved and one just sail wide. Fee ended up with four saves to keep the Saints scoreless. Maryville is now 3-8-4 overall, 2-6-4 in the GLVC. Indianapolis improves to 7-7 overall, 6-6 in the league.
