The Maryville volleyball team heads back out on the road with a 7 p.m. tilt at Missouri S&T Friday, Oct. 26, and heads to Springfield, Mo., to face Drury Saturday, Oct. 27, in a 2 p.m. start.
MORE ON MARYVILLE:
Mikaela Lahm leads the Saints (4-20, 2-9 GLVC) with 222 kills and 58 blocks.
Hana Michael ranks second on the squad with 176 kills along with a team-high 239 digs.
Laura Welling is third on the squad in kills with 137.
Taryn Trubich is closing in on the 500-assist mark and has amassed 450 assists.
Hannah Seitter has registered 213 digs to rank second on the team.
ABOUT MISSOURI S&T:
The Miners sit atop the West Division with a 10-1 mark and are 14-10 overall. Kelly Kosmopolis leads the GLVC with a .334 hitting percentage. Jennifer Costello is second in assists per set at 11.22. Krista Haslag tops the league in blocks at 1.43 per set. The Miners lead the GLVC in digs at 18.61 per set and are second in the league in kills with 13.44 per set. Maryville dropped a three-set decision Sept. 29 to the Miners at home.
ABOUT DRURY:
The Panthers are 11-14 overall, 3-8 in the GLVC. Alex Smith ranks third in the league in kills per set at 3.83 and aces at 0.39. Amanda Watson has a team-high 50 blocks. Sara Borneman is fifth at 3.51 kills per set, while Brooke Foster has a team-best 303 digs. Drury downed the Saints 3-1 earlier this season in St. Louis.
LAST WEEK:
The Saints opened the week by falling in three sets to the NAIA’s No. 15-ranked team Missouri Baptist.
Mikaela Lahm finished with 16 kills and a .387 hitting percentage as the Saints rallied for a thrilling five-set victory over Kentucky Wesleyan. Maryville won set one versus Southern Indiana but the Screaming Eagles came back to win in four.
LOOKING AHEAD:
The Saints have three road challenges ahead. Maryville treks to UMSL Tuesday, Oct. 30, for a 7 p.m. match. The Saints play at Illinois Springfield Friday, Nov. 2, then close out their road swing Saturday, Nov. 3, at Quincy.
