THIS WEEK:
The Maryville women's soccer team takes to the road for three tilts this week. The Saints visit Lindenwood Tuesday, Sept. 11, for a 7:30 p.m. game at Hunter Stadium. Maryville plays its first Great Lakes Valley Conference road contests with games at Kentucky Wesleyan Friday, Sept. 14, and at Southern Indiana Sunday, Sept. 16.
MORE ON MARYVILLE:
The Saints are 1-2, 0-1 in the GLVC. Three different Maryville players have scored goals and two players have one assist in the early going. Mandy Browning and Jena Casagrande have split duties in the nets and allowed a combined four goals.
ABOUT LINDENWOOD:
The Lions are 1-0-1 and with a win over UMSL and a tie against Illinois Springfield. Courtney Bresnahan and Davah Bruce have scored for Lindenwood this year. Jade Davis has not allowed a goal this year in 200 minutes of action in the nets.
ABOUT KENTUCKY WESLEYAN:
The Panthers are 0-2 in the league after falling to UIS and Quincy in their opening games. KWC has not yet dented the scoreboard and have put eight shots on goal. Kathryn Dishion has seen the majority of the time at goalie and has a 3.77 GAA.
ABOUT SOUTHERN INDIANA:
The Screaming Eagles have alternated wins and losses and are 2-2 overall, 1-1 in the GLVC. Julia Kohnen leads the team with two goals and four points, while Shelby Tarantino has one goal and a team-high two assists for four points. Jackie Lohmann has played every minute in the net and has a 1.75 GAA.
RECAPPING LAST WEEK:
The Saints began GLVC play against McKendree but the game was postponed at halftime due to lightning and heavy rain. The game will be replayed on a date to be announced. Maryville had shots rattle off both the crossbar and post but fell to No. 14 Bellarmine 1-0 Sunday.
LOOKING AHEAD:
The Saints return home Friday, Sept. 21, in a 4:30 p.m. game versus William Jewell. Maryville hosts Rockhurst Sunday, Sept. 23, in a noon contest.
