The visiting Maryville women’s soccer team dropped a 3-0 decision at Lindenwood Tuesday evening in St. Charles. Lindenwood’s Courtney Bresnahan registered a hat trick to lead the way to victory for the Lions. The Saints had seven corner kicks to two for Lindenwood but were unable to turn that advantage into a score.
 
The Lions carried the play early but the Saints defense kept the home team off the scoreboard. However, Lindenwood finally broke through the Maryville defense with a tally in the 26th minute by Bresnahan. The Saints earned a corner kick in the 35th minute but Lindenwood countered and doubled its lead by halftime.
 
The Saints opened up the second half with a charge and earned three corner kicks in a six-minute span. Lindenwood kept Maryville off the scoreboard and added an insurance tally at the 62:14 mark.
 
The Saints stand at 1-3 overall, while the Lions improve to 2-0-1. Maryville is next in action Friday at Kentucky Wesleyan.
