The Maryville volleyball team begins a three-match home stand with two home Great Lakes Valley Conference contests at Moloney Arena. Quincy visits Friday, Sept. 14, for a 7 p.m. match, and Illinois Springfield comes to town Saturday, Sept. 15, in a 3 p.m. tilt.
                                                                  
MORE ON MARYVILLE:
Mikaela Lahm leads the Saints (1-8) with 68 kills and 18 blocks in eight matches. Taryn Trubich tops the team with 113 assists, while Megan Baumgartner has handed out 82 assists. Hana Michael heads the defensive efforts with a team-best 93 digs and leads the team with seven service aces.
 
ABOUT QUINCY:
Quincy is 5-1 with its lone loss coming to Missouri Baptist, which is ranked No. 14 in the NAIA. Carly Schmitt has 57 kills to lead Quincy, while Briann Joslin is hitting .357 along with a team-high 19 blocks. Courtney O’Brien has handed out 118 assists to direct the QU offense. The Hawks lead the GLVC with 54 service aces.
 
ABOUT ILLINOIS SPRINGFIELD:
The Prairie Stars are 2-4 and have lost their last three outings. Connor Borgmeier has notched 78 kills, good for second in the league in kills per set, and she also leads UIS with 54 digs. Rebeka Pruemer has distributed 120 assists for the Prairie Stars.
 
LAST WEEK:
Maryville dropped all four matches against a rugged field at the New Victorian Inn and Suites / Runza Fall Classic, including host and now No. 1 team in the country Nebraska-Kearney, Truman State, St. Cloud State and Northern State.
 
LOOKING AHEAD:
Maryville’s welcomes intra-city rival Missouri-St. Louis to Moloney Arena Tuesday, Sept. 18, for a 7 p.m. contest. The Saints then hit the road for two GLVC matchups. Maryville is at William Jewell Friday, Sept. 21, then play at Rockhurst Saturday, Sept. 22.
