Maryville scored the first goal of the game but Southern Indiana rallied for a wild 6-2 win in Great Lakes Valley Conference play in Evansville, Ind. All eight goals were scored in the second half.

Both teams had good scoring chances in the first 45 minutes but halftime arrived without a score. At the 49:42 mark, Shannon Foley received a pass from Hana McGinis and gave the Saints the 1-0 lead. USI scored two goals just over two minutes apart to surge back into the lead, and took a 3-1 advantage by the 59th minute of play. The Saints pressed forward to cut into the Screaming Eagles’ lead, but USI extended the lead on counters. Abby Juhlin added a late goal for the Saints on an assist from Katy Rood.

The Saints see their record move to 2-4 overall, 1-2 in the league. Southern Indiana is now 4-2, 3-1 in the GLVC. Maryville takes on William Jewell at home Friday.
