In a game delayed due to snow in the area, the Maryville baseball team saw Pittsburg State pull away late in a game Saturday afternoon in Pittsburg, Kan. The Saints tallied a run in the sixth, but the Gorillas eased to an 18-1 win. The teams will play one more game Sunday to close the two-game series.
 
Pittsburgh State tallied a run in the third, and five more in the fourth inning. The Saints got a run back when Corey Gall smashed a solo home run to start the top of the sixth. However, the Gorillas answered with three tallies in the sixth and closed out the win in their season opener.
