The Maryville volleyball team, which won both matches Friday, closed out action at the South Central Classic in Oklahoma Saturday but dropped both matches. The Saints lost a marathon match to Southeastern Oklahoma State 3-2 (25-20, 17-25, 25-21, 20-25, 11-15). In the final contest of the tournament, Maryville fell in three straight (22-25, 14-25, 15-25) to Southern Nazarene.

Against Southeastern Oklahoma State,
Demi Maniaci had a double-double with 13 kills and 14 digs to lead the way.
Laura Welling also had 13 kills, while Oklahoma-native
Grace Balcerak notched 10 kills.
Ali Lampen topped five Saints players who had at least 10 digs with 24. Maryville had an outstanding defensive effort as it had 100 digs to 69 for Southeastern Oklahoma (5-2).

The Saints struggled to generate offense and finished with 28 kills in the final match against Southern Nazarene (4-4).
Julia Greaves topped the team with eight kills, while Lampen again led the defense with 14 digs.

The Saints see their record move to 4-5 on the season. Maryville is back in action Wednesday as it opens Great Lakes Valley Conference play at the University of Missouri-St. Louis in a 7 p.m. start at the Mark Twain Building.
