The Maryville women's soccer team suffered a 3-0 defeat to visiting Indianapolis in Great Lakes Valley Conference play at Maryville Soccer Field Friday afternoon.

The Greyhounds scored the only goal they would need in the 25th minute when Elizabeth Behrends found the back of the net. UIndy looked to extend its lead but Saints netminder Mandy Browning kept the visitors off the scoreboard the rest of the first half.

Danielle Schmitz had the first good scoring chance for the Saints but Megan Fee made the save to keep the Greyhounds ahead. Maryville continued to press for the equalizer but Amanda Wiechens' shot was just wide, and Nadia Abu-Douleh tested Fee who made the save for UIndy. However, UIndy's Lindsey Adams blasted a high shot that scored in the 80th minute, and the Greyhounds tacked on a final tally in the waning moments.

The Greyhounds improve to 2-2-1 overall, 1-1-1 in the GLVC. The Saints look for their first win of the season Sunday when Saint Joseph's comes to town for a Noon start.
