Rensselaer, Ind. - After giving up a goal four minutes into the game, the Maryville men's soccer team roared back with three scores in under five minutes en route to a 5-1 triumph at Saint Joseph's. Gus Reinitz and Luke Gilsinger both found the back of the net twice, and Kory Clawson picked up two assists on the night.The Pumas scored at the 4:17 mark to grab the early momentum. The Saints immediately batted back and had three scoring chances. Reinitz drew the Saints level at 23:37 off an assist from Gilsinger. Just two minutes later, Gilsinger put the Saints ahead with his second goal of the season, and he scored again at the 28:21 mark for a 3-1 Saints lead.
In the second half, Reinitz again tallied the first goal as he scored three minutes after break for a 4-1 margin. Lance Kohler converted a kick from the spot in the 56th minute to close out the scoring. The Saints cruised to their highest goal total since amassing seven scores in the season opener.
The Saints improve to 4-6-4 overall, 3-6-2 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. Maryville closes out its road trip as the Saints take on Indianapolis Sunday afternoon.
