Box Score 2 Nashville, Tenn. - The Maryville baseball team swept both ends of a doubleheader in Nashville, Tenn., as the Saints won 11-3 and 5-0 over host Trevecca Nazarene Saturday afternoon. The wins improve the Saints slate to 2-1 this season.

In the first game of Saturday's scheduled doubleheader, the Saints gave up two runs but roared back to win 11-3. The Trojans scored two in the bottom of the first before Maryville took the lead with three scores in the top of the second.
Garrett Jones bunted for a single,
Kyle Kinyon was hit by a pitch and
Sean Murphy walked to load the bases.
Brad Ridings was the second Saints hitter to be hit by a ball and his RBI cut the deficit in half. Kinyon then scored on a wild pitch, and
Corey Gall's single through the left side pushed the Saints ahead 3-2.

Trevecca Nazarene tied the game with a run in the third but the Saints tallied single runs in the fifth and sixth frame. With runners on first and third, Jones singled to give Maryville the 4-3 advantage in the top of the fifth. In their next at-bat, Murphy doubled and took third on a wild pitch. Gall lifted a sac fly to deep center as Murphy scored for a 5-3 lead. Maryville sealed the win with three-run innings in the eighth and ninth. Â The Saints pounded out 18 hits in the game as
Brandon Sarkissian pitched seven innings and gave up just two hits to notch the win.

In the second game,
Brett Hancock threw five scoreless innings as the Saints saw three pitchers combine for the five-hit shutout. The Saints scored the only run they would need in the top of the first. Murphy singled and took second on a Ridings sac bunt. Carriger doubled to left to plate Murphy with the game's first run. The Saints took control with three runs in the second.
Tyler Omlid singled and took second on a Steffler sac bunt and scored when Murphy walked with the bases loaded. Ridings then lashed a two-run double as the Saints took a 4-0. Maryville sealed the win with a run in the seventh.
Andrew Naegeli was hit by a pitch, stole second and scored on Ridings' RBI single. Ridings went 2-for-3 in the second game and drove in three runs. Hancock gave up just four hits and struck out three to get credit for the win. Corey Hermann and
Shane Herschelman both pitched one inning to close out the game for the Saints.

Maryville will host the University of Sioux Falls Saturday, Feb. 22, in the Saints home opener.
