Box Score St. Charles, Mo. - The Maryville baseball team scored the first run of the game but home squad Lindenwood jumped back with four tallies in the bottom of the second inning and eventually moved on to record a 9-1 win in a game played at St. Charles, Mo.

Troy Payton reached on catcher's interference and took second base on a passed ball.
Corey Gall put a ball in play out to right field, but the Lindenwood defense misplayed it allowing Payton to score the first run of the game. Â

In the second inning, the Lions used three straight doubles to take a 4-1 lead. Lindenwood only managed one hit in the third inning but took advantage of three walks and an error to extend its lead with three more runs. Garrett Jones doubled and had two hits on the day to lead the Saints offense.

The Saints fall to 4-7 on the year, while the Lions won their third straight and are now 9-12. The Saints are next in action Wednesday, March 19, when Illinois Springfield comes to town for a 6 p.m. nonconference game at Weber Field.Â
