Tyler Omlid threw a complete game to lead Maryville to a 4-1 win over visiting William Jewell in game one of a doubleheader at Weber Field. The Cardinals rallied late to take game two 7-3. The teams will play another Great Lakes Valley Conference doubleheader Sunday starting at Noon.

In the series opener, neither team generated much offense until the Saints broke through in the fourth.
Mike Wilkinson doubled and eventually scored on
Mitch Carriger's RBI single. In the next inning,
Brad Ridings and
Kaleb Depew were hit by pitches to start the fifth. After a sac bunt by
Garrett Jones,
Sean Murphy doubled the duo home for a 3-0 lead. The Saints tacked on a run in the seventh when
Corey Gall singled home Jones to supply a 4-0 advantage. The Cardinals scratched across an unearned run in the top of the ninth but Omlid prevented any further damage as he picked up this third win of the season and he went the distance for the second straight outing.

In the second game, the Saints led a lead slip away as the Cardinals rallied with a big final frame. William Jewell scored two runs in the top of the fourth, but the Saints came right back with three runs in the home half. Wilkinson and Gall picked up consecutive singles, and Carriger drove in Maryville's first run. After

Kyle Kinyon drilled a single to score two runs and hand the Saints a 3-2 lead. WJC tied the game in the top of the sixth with the help of an RBI triple. The Cardinals continued their late push and used three hits and one error to tally four runs in the seventh inning to take game two.

The Saints stand at 9-11 overall, 5-5 in the GLVC. The Cardinals see their record move to 6-13 overall, 5-5 in the conference.
