St. Louis - Rockhurst used two late goals in the first half to pull away and down the Maryville men's soccer team 4-0 Sunday afternoon in Great Lakes Valley Conference action.

The Saints had scoring chances early but shots by
Lance Kohler and
Zach Klipsch were saved by Hawks keeper Stefano Radio. The Hawks scored the only goal they would need in the 25th minute of play. Austin Tierney headed a shot towards the Saints net, and Adam Michel ran onto it and guided it into the net. Rockhurst struck for another score two minutes before halftime as Claudio Romano assisted on Luke Moore's score. With just 14 seconds left in the first half, Romano notched another assist as the Hawks scored to up the lead to three.

Gus Reinitz had a scoring opportunity in the fourth minute after intermission but Radio kept the Saints off the scoreboard. Rockhurst struck again after taking advantage of a Saints defensive miscue.
Bogi Atanasov hit a curving shot in the 66th minute of play but his attempt struck the right post and bounced away.
Alex Brown followed with another shot on the play but his blast was blocked.

The Saints are now 3-3-3 overall, 2-3-1 in the GLVC. Rockhurst improves to 5-2 overall, 5-1 in the league.
