The Maryville men's soccer team battled to a 0-0 draw against crosstown rival University of Missouri-St. Louis to close the regular season. The tie prevented the Saints from nudging their way into the Great Lakes Valley Conference tournament as Maryville ended the year with a five-game unbeaten streak. The Saints finished at 7-7-4 overall, 5-6-4 in the GLVC. Both are the best records since joining the GLVC.

Each team had one shot on goal in the first half but neither seriously threatened. In the second half, the Tritons had an early shot but Saints goalie
Christian Kjaersgaard punched the shot away. USML continued to look to take the lead but the Saints defense blocked a shot, and Kjaersgaard came up with another save.

In the first overtime,
Landon Paul worked clear for a shot before UMSL keeper Jack Filla made the save. Paul had another chance at the winner but Filla again kept the game scoreless. UMSL had two late opportunities but Kjaersgaard stood tall, including a sprawling save from point-blank range, to force a second OT session.
Kevin Ptacek had a late chance before the game ended in a tie.

Filla made four saves on the game for the Tritons (7-7-3, 6-6-3 GLVC). Kjaersgaard made five saves to record his seventh shutout of the season.
