In a match that featured 42 ties and 14 lead changes, Maryville took set one but McKendree rallied to grab a 3-1 Great Lakes Valley Conference match on Halloween Day. The Bearcats won via set scores of 25-27, 27-25, 25-18, 25-21 to deny the Saints a bid at their second straight conference victory.

The Saints were down 7-4 before surging ahead with four straight points.
Maddie Timmermann started the run with a kill, and
Laura Welling followed.
Taylor Luebbers served two straight aces for an 8-7 edge. Maryville was still up 10-9 before three straight kills pushed the lead to 13-9. McKendree make two runs but the Saints maintained the lead. The Bearcats committed an error as the Saints got to set point at 24-19. However, McKendree scored five straight to extend the set. Tied at 25-25,
Zoe Zeiter had a kill, and Timmermann's play ended the set 27-25.

Neither team led by more than two points until the Bearcats built a 14-11 lead. The Saints rallied and went back in front with a 4-0 burst. Tied at 15-all, Welling had two kills, and after a
Taryn Trubich kill, a McKendree error put the Saints ahead 19-15. Maryville had set points at 24-22 but McKendree went ahead 25-24. Timmermann and Michael had a block to tie the set until the Bearcats scored two straight to tie the match.

Set three was tied at 15-15 before the Bearcats scored three straight for an 18-15 lead. The Saints were still trailing 21-8 until McKendree scored the final four points of the set for a 25-18 win. Maryville led 15-14 in set four after a Timmermann ace but the Bearcats scored three straight to reclaim the lead. McKendree inched to an 18-17 lead then tallied four-in-a-row and eventually closed out the match 25-21.

Timmermann led the Saints with 12 kills and hit .476 in the contest to pair with four blocks. Zeiter hit .304 with 10 kills, while Welling also finished with 10 kills. Lampen finished with a match-high 33 digs, and Trubich handed out 42 assists, along with 12 digs and seven kills. Michael finished with 12 digs and eight kills.

The Saints slip to 11-15 overall, 3-10 in the GLVC. The Bearcats up their mark to 17-9, 11-2 in the conference. Maryville takes to the road for two contests next weekend before closing the regular season with three straight home contests.
