Box Score 2 Maryville's baseball narrowly lost both ends of a doubleheader Monday to close out a Great Lakes Valley Conference series at Bellarmine. The Knights took game one 4-2 and earned a 5-3 decision in the finale. The game had to be moved to St. Xavier High School in Louisville due to conditions at BU's home field.

The Saints struck for a run in the top of the first.
Troy Payton singled in the top of the first and stole second.
Brad Ridings singled to push Payton to third who promptly stole home for a 1-0 Maryville edge. The Knights fought back with two runs in the third inning on a double and run-scoring ground out for a 2-1 edge. Bellarmine added on to its lead with single scores in the fifth and sixth innings. In the top of the seventh, Ridings reached on a fielder's choice and scored on
Mike Wilkinson's RBI double. But the Saints could not find the last two runs to complete a comeback.

In the series finale, Bellarmine took the lead with a run in the first. The Saints pulled even in the top of the third.
Yoonjae Nam doubled and scored on Ridings' RBI single. The Knights pushed across single tallies in the fourth and fifth before the Saints again answered.
Mitch Carriger began the rally with a two-out walk, and scored on
Tyler Catlett's RBI double. Catlett reached third and scored on pinch-hitter
Ryan March's RBI single for a 3-all tie. However, the Knights received a two-run double from Cole Metcalfe in the bottom of the seventh for the final runs of the game. The Saints got runners aboard in both the eighth and ninth innings but hit into double plays to end the threat.
