Hana McGinis hit a rocket high into the net to boost the Maryville women's soccer team to a 1-0 victory over visiting Indianapolis in Great Lakes Valley Conference action Friday afternoon. Her winner came in the 84th minute after a long, lofted diagonal pass from
Shannon Foley as the Saints garnered their first league win.

Neither team generated a good scoring chance in the first half but the offenses picked up the tempo in the final 45 minutes. The Greyhounds took six shots in the second half, while the Saints put up five. The winning sequence was set up when the Saints garnered possession in the waning minutes of the contest. Foley dribbled the ball up the left side of the field and struck a pass into the wind which held up the ball long enough for McGinis to gather it in. She took one touch and rifled a shot high and into the middle of the UIndy net for her third goal this season.
Madison Buelow made four saves, all in the second half, to preserve the shutout for Maryville.

The Saints are now 2-2-1 overall, 1-1-1 in the league. Indianapolis slips to 1-4 overall, 0-3 in the GLVC. Maryville is back in action Sunday as it hosts Saint Jopseh's College at Noon.
