On the third corner kick of overtime, the Maryville women's soccer team finally broke through with the golden goal as 
Shannon Foley headed in 
Nadia Abu-Douleh's corner for a 1-0 victory over visiting Saint Joseph's College Sunday afternoon.
 
The Saints earned their first corner of OT in the second minute but could not convert. Maryville's second corner was pushed out setting up the dramatic game-winning goal. From the left corner flag, Abu-Douleh lofted a ball towards the near post. Foley ran under it and flicked the ball in off the top of her head for the winner in the 97th minute of play. The Saints outshot the Pumas 11 to four and enjoyed an 8-2 edge in corner kicks.
 
Madison Buelow faced four shots and made two saves to post the clean sheet for the Saints. Maryville has won two straight Great Lakes Valley Conference games to improve to 3-2-1 overall, 2-1-1- in the league. The Pumas dip to 1-5-1, 1-3 in the GLVC.
