The Maryville volleyball team earned a split on day one of action at its own Maryville University Invitational Tournament. The Saints fell to Central Oklahoma 3-0 but rebounded to sweep Henderson State 3-0.

In their season opener, the Bronchos registered a .357 hitting percentage to down Maryville. The Saints battled in the first two sets before UCO pulled away in the third set.
Ali Lampen paced the defense with 11 digs and added five assists.
Hana Michael recorded six kills and chipped in eight digs along with two service aces.
Maddie Timmermann and
Zoe Zeiter both added six kills. UCO won by scores of 25-21, 25-20, 25-13.

The Saints bounced back with a dominating performance against the Reddies. Maryville scored the first six points of the match and hit at least .320 in all three sets.
Ashley Selman guided the offense with 11 kills and hit .350 along with four blocks. Timmermann notched eight kills while hitting .583 on the night. Michael recorded 12 digs while Lampen finished with 11 digs. The Saints defense held HSU to a .000 hitting percentage through two sets, and the Reddies finished at -.084 for the match. Maryville won in set scores of 25-20, 25-14, 25-12.

The Saints are 1-1 on the season. Action resumes Saturday at 9 a.m. in Moloney Arena. The Saints face Southern Wesleyan at 11 a.m. and close out the tourney at 5 p.m. against Texas A&M-Kingsville.
