The Hawks opened the game by scoring the first five points on a Nikia Edom three and that was followed by a Maggie Cunningham lay-in.
Alex Wolf put Maryville on the scoreboard with jumper from the baseline to cut the lead to 5-2. The two teams then traded baskets until Quincy put together a 12-2 run over three minutes and 33 seconds midway through the quarter to take a 22-10 lead with 3:02 remaining. The Saints started a run of their own in the later stages of the quarter as
Ali Ringering drained a trey from the corner, and
Ellen Foster canned a jumper to cut the Hawks lead to 22-15 at the end of the first.

Maryville started the second quarter with Ringering drilling a triple from the top of the key, and
Stephanie Sherwood nailed a baseline jumper to cut the Quincy lead to 22-20 with 8:38 left in the half. That would be as close as the Saints would get it as the Hawks went on a 13-2 run to take a 35-22 advantage with just over five minutes remaining and heading into the halftime locker room with a 43-32 lead. The Hawks never looked back as they finished the game shooting 50 percent from field and a sizzling 10-of-19 from beyond the arc.

Hillyer scored 19 of her career-high 29 points in the second half to pace the Saints (8-7, 2-6 GLVC) while Ringering added 14 markers, and Wolf chipped in 10 points and eight rebounds in the loss. Cunningham lead the way for Quincy (16-1, 7-1 GLVC), who is ranked 18th in the latest USA Today Division II Coaches Poll, with 22 points while adding six assists. Edom scored 19 points while Erin Mennemeyer chipped in with 12 markers and grabbed six caroms.

Maryville concludes its brief two game road trip Saturday afternoon when the Saints travel to Kirksville to take on Truman State in a 1 p.m. tip off.
