Truman State boxscore in PDFKirksville, Mo. – Truman State used the long ranger jumper in the first half to pull out to a twenty-three point advantage and held on to hand Maryville women's basketball its fifth setback in a row 80-60 at Pershing Arena in Kirksville Saturday afternoon.

Things started on an even kneel for both teams as
Ali Ringering scored four of the first six points of the day for the Saints while
Stephanie Sherwood nailed her first three of the game to tie the contest up at 9-9 with 5:36 remaining in the opening period. That was the point where the Bulldogs would start a 24-1 run that spanned over the next nine and half minutes to give Truman a 33-10 advantage with 6:10 remaining in the half. The Bulldogs nailed five of their eight long-range jumpers in that span while finishing the first half 7-of-10 from beyond the arc and taking a 40-20 halftime lead. Rachel Steinhoff was a perfect 3-of-3 in the half while Courtney Strait added a pair of triples for the Bulldogs.

Maryville came out of the halftime locker room and played on even terms with Truman, with Ringering coming alive in the half with 16 points.
Alex Hillyer poured in seven points, including a pair of triple to spark the Saint offense. Ringering finished the afternoon with 22 points while going 7-of-10 from the field. Hillyer recorded a double-double with 15 points and 10 boards for Maryville.

The Bulldogs (13-6, 7-2 GLVC) placed four in double figures with Strait scoring 14 points while Ashley Hartwig added 13 markers. Maryville (8-8, 2-7 GLVC) returns home to the Simon Center Thursday, Jan. 28, to take on Rockhurst in a 5:30 p.m. tip on Social Media Night.
