Indianapolis – Marvin Grant-Clark put together a career night as the Saints men's basketball team pushed No. 25 University of Indianapolis to the limit before falling to the Greyhounds 82-75 on the road at Nicoson Hall on Thursday night in Indianapolis. The loss snapped Maryville's five-game winning streak, while UIndy won its eighth straight outing.

The Greyhounds opened the contest by going on a 6-0 run before Grant-Clark hit back-to-back baskets to cut the UIndy lead to 6-4 with 14:48 remaining in the half. After that point, the teams started to settle in and begin to trade baskets until the Greyhounds took a 29-20 lead on a Joe Retic layup with 4:05 left in the half. Grant-Clark keyed a 13-7 run with six of his 16 first half points as the Saints cut the UIndy lead to 36-33 heading into the halftime locker room.

Max Mischkulnig opened the second half with a layup off of a Karson King pass to put the Saints down by a single point and after a Alex Etherington layup, Saikou Jallow's lay-in tied the contest for the second time at 38-38. After the Greyhounds went on a 7-0 run to take a 45-38 lead, Maryville answered with its own 7-0 run as Grant-Clark hit a pair of lay-ups and a triple from the wing to tie the game at 47-47 with 14:40 remaining in the game. The Saints used great defense and hot shooting from the field to keep pace with the 25th ranked team in the country before Grant-Clark hit a pair of free throws and then nailed a trey to give Maryville a 67-62 advantage with 4:47 remaining. Jordan Loyd put in two free throws and then buried a three from the top of the key to draw the Greyhounds even with the Saints at 70-70. Tyler Rambo converted a couple of free throws and then Loyd finshed off the night for the Greyhound by netting the last ten points of the contest.

Grant-Clark finished the contest with a career-high 37 points and 10 rebounds to pace the Saints. His scoring output was the sixth most points scored in a single game and the most by a Saints player in a Great Lakes Valley Conference contest. MIschkulnig added 11 markers while Jallow handed out a game-high five assists.

The Greyhounds (9-2, 3-0 GLVC) were paced by Loyd with 27 points, including 11-of-13 from the line, while Etherington netted 16 points and Tyler Rambo added 14 points.

Maryville (7-7, 1-3 GLVC) concludes their short two game road trip on Saturday afternoon as the Saints travel to Rensselaer, IN to take on St. Joseph's College. Start time is scheduled for 3:15 p.m.
