The Saints opened the contest by scoring five of the first seven points as
Alex Wolf nailed a lay-up and then split a pair of free throws.
Ali Ringering converted on a jumper to give Maryville a 5-2 lead at the 7:34 mark of the period. The Pumas put together a 11-2 run, with Kalea Parks hitting on eight of those points, to give St. Joe's a 13-7 advantage with just under four minutes to go in the period.
Stephanie Sherwood nailed a three to pull the Saints to within five points at 31-26 with 5:57 left in the half, but this would be as close as Maryville would get. The Pumas were able to maintain their lead as Parks added six markers and Courtney Kvachkoff hit a pair of jumpers to give St. Joe's a 42-33 advantage at the half.

The Pumas turned the second half over to their leading scorer, Lauren Davis, to keep Maryville at bay. Davis, who had 10 assists in the first half, scored four of the first six points for the Pumas as they stretched the lead to 48-33 with 7:48 remaining in the third period. The Saints mounted comeback midway through the third period as
Carly Frala drilled a three from the left wing and Alex Hilyer nailed four straight free throws to key a 7-2 run to cut the Pumas lead to 52-45 with 4:28 left. Davis scored eight of Saint Joseph's final 12 points of the quarter to take a 64-49 lead into the fourth quarter and would never look back.

Hillyer and Sherwood finished the night with 17 points each while Frala chipped in with 10 to pace the Saints (8-4, 2-3 GLVC) while
Alex Wolf grabbed seven boards in the defeat. Davis would finish with a game-high 29 markers and 12 assists for the Pumas (10-4, 3-1 GLVC) with Kvachkoff netting 19 points and grabbing 11 caroms, while Parks finished with 18 points.

The Saints return home to Moloney Arena this coming Thursday, Jan. 14, to take on nationally-ranked Lewis in a 5:30 p.m. tip.
