Allison Verville jump started the Maryville women's soccer team offence with a goal in the 19
th minute as the Saints cruised to a 3-1 win over Saint Joseph's College Friday evening in Rensselaer, IN
Verville scored her team leading fourth goal of the year off an assist from
Danielle Schmitz to give the Saints an early 1-0 lead. Things continued to go Maryville's way as senior captain
Nadia Abu-Douleh found the net off a corner kick in the 33
rd minute to extend the Saints lead to 2-0. The goal for Abu-Douleh was her first of the year.
Kaley Ruff extended the Maryville lead just 90 seconds into the second half as she converted an Abu-Douleh corner kick into a goal by finding the lower right corner of the goal to give the Saints a 3-0 advantage. Kennedy Hathaway put the Pumas (1-9-2, 0-8-2 GLVC) on the scoreboard in the 79
th minute, but the Saints defense held on for the victory.
Maryville (5-8-0, 4-7-0 GLVC returns to action on their quick two game road trip on Sunday, Oct. 16, as the Saints travel to Indianapolis to take on the University of Indianapolis. Game time is set for 11 am central time.
