Evan Booker scored the game-winning layup with 24 seconds left in overtime to boost the Maryville men's basketball team to a thrilling 58-57 win over the University of Puerto Rico-Mayaguez Sunday evening in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Booker also scored the bucket in the final minute of regulation that forced the extra session.

With just under two minutes left in overtime, UPRM hit a 3-pointer to go up 55-54.
Karson King sank two free throws with 1:05 remaining to push the Saints ahead 56-55. UPRM answered with a layup with 44 seconds remaining. After a Maryville timeout, the Saints looked inside and Booker powered up for the game winner. UPRM had a final shot in the waning seconds but the Saints held on for the win.

Forrester Sims led the way with 10 points apiece, and Sims tied for team rebounding honors with eight boards. Booker finished with nine points and eight rebounds and helped the Saints improve to 4-9. Maryville is back in action in San Juan as it faces the University of Puerto Rico-Bayamon Monday night.
