Box Score Rolla, Mo. – Despite having the advantage in shots during a pair of extra sessions, the Maryville University women's soccer team and Missouri S&T battled to a 0-0 scoreless draw Friday afternoon at S&T Soccer Field in Rolla, Mo.
What Happened – Missouri S&T controlled play in the first 90 minutes of the game, out-shooting the Saints 22-12, with
Alison Riddle knocking away eight shots in regulation. Maryville took over offensively in the extra sessions, out-shooting the Miners 4-1. The Saints had scoring opportunities each of the overtime periods, but could not find the net.
Inside the Numbers – Riddle finished with eight saves while earning her fourth clean sheet of the season.
Alex Johnson and
Stacie Muehling each had three shots to pace the Saints offense in the draw.
How They Stand – Maryville is now 7-3-3 overall and 6-2-3 in league play while the Miners are now 0-11-1 overall and 0-9-1 in the GLVC.
Up Next – Maryville continues their three-game road trip Friday, Oct. 20, as the Saints take on cross-town rival the University of Missouri-St. Louis. The match is set to begin at 5 p.m.
